Overseas Mission

For several years The Lighthouse has been building relationship with the Tabita Association and Breadline ministries in Moldova. These charities are working to support the physical and spiritual needs of their impoverished local community.

 

Amongst other projects the Tabita Association runs a farm with 40 dairy cows, employing local workers.  Wheat and sunflowers are also grown on the farm and distributed each winter to homes in the local area. The charity has also been working in partnership with churches to assist local farmers to buy the equipment they need to farm their land and create a sustainable livelihood.

 

Brian Pile from Breadline and Pastor Slavic Duman from the Tabita Association visit The Lighthouse each year and report on the development of these ministries.

Brain and Slavic have visited farms and gained veterinary knowledge from contacts in The Lighthouse.  They have learned good farming practice and animal husbandry skills which have now been put on place on the farm in Dancu.  We have also recently hosted two Moldovian ladies from the Tabita Association's new bakery project whilst they gained skills in Ditty's Bakery Magherafelt.

Jason & Ally Robinson

MAF Australia

Jason and Ally Robinson are finishing off their training with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Queensland Australia. Ally completed eighteen months of bible college and obtained a diploma in ministers, whilst Jason has completed one year of bible college and two years of flight training, obtaining a commercial pilot's licence and instrument rating.

 

Their aim is to bring the great news of the gospel to the Aboriginal people in Arnhem Land which is located in the remote area of North Australia.  They  plan to return home to N.Ireland for deputation in November 2016  for a few months before returning to Australia to serve in Arnhem Land.  They really appreciate your prayers and support.
